Mumbai the commercial capital of India, has always been a thorn of the eye to the people of around the country. For every commodity the prices are the highest in Mumbai, be it Fuel, Vegetables, Fruits, Milk anything! Non of the state governments parties which have been in the past or are in the present, have bothered to look into this matter. The city gives the centre enormous amount of revenue in Tax, but what is it that the people of Mumbai get? Milind Deorah promised that he would get major help for the state and especially Mumbai from the centre, but where has it all gone? Why are the Central and State duties, for all commodities highest in Mumbai?
What Mumbai and India needs is an uniform rate of duty throughout. Why should Mumbaiites bear this brunt?
